Australian Capital Territory Baby Names 2018

Access Canberra  has released baby names data for 2018 for Australian Capital Territory in Australia. Data is available for the ten most popular female and male names.

Female Names

Amelia climbs four places to be the most popular girls’ name in 2018. Ella is a new entry in the top ten, in joint second place with Olivia. Ava moves up four places to fourth. Evelyn and Zoe are new entries in joint fifth. Chloe falls four places to seventh. Matilda is also a new entry, in joint eighth with Mia. Last year’s number one Charlotte drops nine places to tenth. Sophie, Isla, Ivy and Grace drop out of the top ten.

Male Names

William moves up one place to be the most popular boys’ name in 2018. Noah climbs three places to second. Oliver falls from first place to third, and Henry drops one place to fourth. Jack and Thomas are in joint fifth place. Ethan is a new entry in the top ten in seventh. Alexander remains in eighth, and Leo moves up one place to ninth. Lucas is another new entry in tenth. James, Samuel, Charlie and Lachlan drop out of the top ten.
