New South Wales Baby Names 2018

The New South Wales Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages has released baby names data for 2018 for New South Wales in Australia. Data is available for the 100 most popular female and male names.
Charlotte tops the chart in 2018 and is the most popular girls’ name for the fifth time in seven years. Amelia climbs two places to second, ahead of Olivia who drops one place to third. Mia moves up one place to fourth, and Ava drops two places to fifth. Isla remains in sixth place. Grace moves up one place, changing places with Chloe who drops one place to eighth. Harper is a new entry in the top ten, moving up three places to ninth. Emily returns to the top ten, climbing four places to tenth. Zoe and Ella drop out of the top ten.
For the second year running the top four boys’ names are unchanged, with Oliver in first place, William in second, Noah in third and Jack in fourth. Henry climbs one place to fifth, Thomas moves up one place to sixth, and Lucas climbs one place to seventh. Liam and Leo are new entries in the top ten. Liam moves up three places to eighth and Leo climbs five places to ninth. Alexander stays in tenth. James and Ethan drop out of the top ten.
