Northern Territory Baby Names 2018

The Northern Territory Government  has released baby names data for 2018 for Northern Territory in Australia. Data is available for the 20 most popular female and male names.

Female Names

Charlotte has been the most popular girls’ name since 2013 and tops the chart again in 2018. Evelyn and Isla are joint second, with Evelyn climbing nine places and Isla moving up eleven places. Olivia drops two places to fourth. Amelia and Ruby are in joint fifth, both climbing a place. Abigail, Isabella, Matilda, Mia, Sophia and Zoe are all in joint seventh place. Abigail and Matilda are new entries on the chart, Isabella drops four places, Mia drops one place, Sophia climbs nine places and Zoe moves up six places.

Other new entries in the top 20 names are Emily (joint 13th), Layla (joint 13th), Sienna (joint 13th), Ivy (joint 17th), Phoebe (joint 17th) and Willow (joint 17th).

Male Names

Jack is the most popular boys’ name in 2018. Oliver moves up one place to second. Michael is a new entry on the chart in third and Noah stays in fourth. Alexander is another new entry, in joint fifth with Ethan, who climbs six places. In joint eighth are new entries Cooper, John and Joseph , alongside Thomas who drops one place.

Other new entries in the top 20 are Hunter (joint 12th), Jaxon (joint 12th), Jordan (joint 12th) and Arlo (19th).
