Puerto Rico Baby Names 2017

The Social Security Administration  has released baby names data for 2017 for Puerto Rico. Data is available for the 100 most popular female and male names.

Female Names

Victoria is the most popular girls’ name in 2017, moving ahead of Valentina who drops to second. Mia remains in third place and Amanda stays in fourth. Emma climbs three places to fifth. Amaia and Kamila are in joint sixth place. Mikaela falls four places to eighth. Isabella is a new entry in the top ten, moving up two places to ninth. Sofia remains in tenth. Camila drops out of the top ten.

New entries in the top 100 names are Lyah (51st), Samara (59th), Anahia (joint 66th), Zoe (joint 66th), Samantha (69th), Galilea (joint 75th), Paulette (joint 75th), Hailey (joint 77th), Katalina (joint 77th), Lara (joint 77th), Chloe (joint 87th), Daniella (joint 87th), Jade (joint 87th), Joelys (joint 87th), Alaiah (joint 94th), Aliah (joint 94th), Claudia (joint 94th), Danielys (joint 94th), Kaylee (joint 94th) and Miah (joint 94th).

Male Names

The top three most popular boys’ names are unchanged, with Sebastian in first place, Dylan in second and Ian in third. Mateo moves up four places to fourth and Adrian remains in fifth. Jayden drops two places to sixth and Luis stays in seventh. Lucas climbs two places to eighth and Angel drops four places to ninth. Liam is a new entry in the top ten, moving up eight places to tenth. Diego drops out of the top ten.

New entries in the top 100 are Adriel (60th), Javier (66th), Mikael (78th), Jatniel (80th), Francisco (joint 84th), Jonathan (joint 84th), Dante (joint 87th), Eyden (joint 87th), Josue (90th), Iker (joint 95th), Pedro (joint 95th) and Abraham (99th).
