Puerto Rico Baby Names 2018

The Social Security Administration  has released baby names data for 2018 for Puerto Rico. Data is available for male and female names with a count of five or more.

Female Names

Valentina moves up one place to be the most popular girls’ name in 2018, moving ahead of Victoria who drops to second. Emma climbs two places to third, ahead of Mia who falls one place to fourth. Isabella moves up three places to fifth, and Mikaela climbs two places to sixth. Amaia is unchanged in seventh. Camila is a new entry in the top ten, climbing three places to eighth. Amanda drops five places to ninth, and Kamila falls four places to tenth. Sofia drops out of the top ten.

New entries in the top 100 names include Ainhoa (up 105 places to 22nd), Naiara (up 126 places to 47th), Laia (up 104 places to 49th), Danna (up 141 places to 53rd), Elianys (up 94 places to 59th), Aitana (up 62 places to 65th), Nahia (up 58 places to 69th), Ximena (up 53 places to 74th), Leia (up 57 places to 83rd), Daenerys (up 66 places to joint 87th), Diana (up 86 places to joint 87th) and Samira (up 63 places to 90th).

Names dropping out of the top 100 include Jimena (down 32 places to joint 110th), Lara (down 32 places to joint 110th), Marina (down 32 places to joint 110th), Galilea (down 46 places to joint 121st), Hailey (down 43 places to joint 121st), Alaiah (down 40 places to 134th), Amy (down 40 places to joint 134th), Isabelle (down 61 places to joint 134th), Micaela (down 56 places to joint 134th), Zoe (down 80 places to 146th), Eva (down 88 places to 166th) and Samantha (down 97 places to 166th).

Male Names

The five most popular boys’ names are unchanged from 2017, with Sebastian in first place, Dylan in second, Ian in third, Mateo in fourth and Adrian in joint fifth with Liam, who moves up five places. Lucas climbs one place to seventh. Matias is a new entry in the top ten, moving up 14 places to eighth. Thiago climbs two places to ninth and Jayden falls four places to tenth. Angel and Luis drop out of the top ten.

New entries in the top 100 include Zaid (up 64 places to 47th), John (up 45 places to 59th), Ayden (up 85 places to 69th), Anthony (up 36 places to joint 75th), Mathias (up 55 places to joint 75th), Felix (up 38 places to joint 92nd), Santiago (up 52 places to joint 92nd) and Sergio (up 42 places to joint 92nd).

Names dropping out of the top 100 include Jonathan (down 21 places to 105th), Ricardo (down 48 places to 111th), Abdiel (down 61 places to joint 128th), Bryan (down 59 places to joint 128th), Kevin (down 51 places to 128th), Jatniel (down 61 places to 141st) and Pablo (down 54 places to 141st).
