Births, Deaths & Marriages Victoria  has released baby names data for 2018 for Victoria in Australia. Data is available for the 100 most popular female and male names.

Female Names

Olivia climbs one place to be the most popular girls’ names in 2018, replacing Charlotte who drops to second. Amelia remains in third place. Mia moves up one place to fourth, changing places with Ava who drops to fifth. Isla climbs three places to sixth and Zoe drops one place to seventh. Chloe is a new entry in the top ten, moving up three places to eighth. Grace drops one place to ninth. Matilda is another new entry in the top ten, climbing seven places to tenth. Ella and Evie drop out of the top ten.

New entries in the top 100 names are Alyssa (76th), Olive (84th), Pippa (91st), Adeline (joint 93rd), Charlie (joint 93rd), Mollie (96th) and Millie (99th).

Male Names

For the fifth year in a row Oliver is the most popular boys’ name. Jack climbs one place to second, changing places with William who drops to third. Noah remains in fourth place and Thomas stays in fifth. Henry moves up two places to sixth. Leo is a new entry in the top ten, climbing five places to seventh. Ethan moves up two places to eighth. Charlie is joint ninth with Liam , who climbs six places. Lucas and Alexander fall out of the top ten.

New entries in the top 100 boys’ names are Beau (67th), Christian (71st), Carter (73rd), River (77th) and Rafael (96th).
