Ava and Charlotte are the joint most popular female names in 2018. Ava climbs five places, and Charlotte moves up two places. Mia drops one place from second to third. Olivia and Amelia remain in fourth and fifth places respectively. Last year’s number one Isla drops five places to sixth. Harper stays in seventh place. Grace climbs one place to eighth, swapping places with Chloe who drops to ninth. Willow is a new entry in the top ten, climbing twelve places to tenth. Ella drops out of the top ten, falling three places to thirteenth.
Oliver was the most popular boys’ name in 2018 for the fifth year running, and Jack was in second place also for the fifth year in a row. Jack has been in the top three most popular boys’ names since 1996. Noah moves up one place to third, changing places with William who drops to fourth. Leo is a new entry in the top ten, climbing eight places to fifth. James drops one place to sixth, and Thomas remains in seventh. Ethan drops one place to eighth. Charlie and Logan are in joint ninth place. Lucas drops out of the top ten, falling five places to eleventh.
